THE TALENT SEARCH APPLICATION PACKAGE IS NOW AVAILABLE VIA GRANTS.GOV - http://www.grants.gov/web/grants/search-grants.html?keywords=84.044
December 22, 2015
Dear TRIO Colleagues:
Today, the notice announcing the final Talent Search application appeared in the Federal Register. It is available here: https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2015/12/22/2015-32089/applications-for-new-awards-talent-search-program. The proposal is due in 45 days on Friday, February 5, 2016.
Despite receiving more than 300 comments, the majority of which expressed concern about the proposed competitive preference priorities, the application is virtually identical to the draft released by the Department last fall. In particular, the application includes two competitive preference priorities, worth six points total. Note, however, that both parts (a) and (b) of each competitive preference priority must be addressed in order to obtain all available points.
The Pell Institute, COE’s research arm, is currently working to identify appropriate research studies to assist applicants. COE is also working to assure that currently funded Talent Search projects receive an increase in 2016-17 consistent with the 7.2% increase Congress provided TRIO. We will inform you as soon as information on such increases becomes available.
COE will host an EOC and Talent Search Proposal Writing Workshop for Institutional Members on January 5-6, 2016 in Orlando, Florida. (Click here to learn more and to register.) COE will also host webinars on the Talent Search Competitive Preference Priorities on January 11 (Priorities 1a and 1b) and January 12 (2a and 2b). (Click here to learn more and to register.) If you have additional questions or concerns about the Talent Search grant competition or require other technical assistance, please contact Angelica Vialpando via e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org).
