 KY TRIO is now offering training opportunities for TRIO professionals, support staff, and participants through a newly formed committee created by President Keene. The committee is chaired by Dr. Chris George and includes: Ms. Summer Bryant, Vice-President Matthew Donovan, and President Keene. Training is being offered to KY TRIO Membership and will begin in just a few weeks with our Five for Five Training (that's a 5-part workshop series being offered for $500.00 per program). This training is designed for professional staff, support staff, and includes the following topics:
1. History of TRIO (November 18, 2020) - Tracy Lyons will share how the TRIO movement began and where we are now and give some important insight into how we as TRIO staff are an important catalyst in this movement!
2. Mental Health-TRIO Self-Care  (December 9, 2020)- President Keene will share some of the latest trends and insights on Mental Health Wellness and Mindfulness on the national level. Exercises and activities included may be shared with your staff and participants as you continue to learn how to navigate your mental wellness during this pandemic.
3. Financial Aid-Deconstructing Award Letters (March 10, 2021) - Presenters TBA SOON! Learn how to assist your program participants as they figure out the many facets of Financial Aid Awards and what each aspect of an award means. This training will help you work with your participants and their parents as they work through the financial aid process.    
4. "Tech" You Out (April 14, 2021) - Ms. Summer Bryant and Mr. Matthew Donovan will take on sharing the latest trends and "how-to" use new technology. Need to learn how to create online applications and forms? Interested in creating online classrooms and learning tools? What are some of the current fun, quick, and easy technology tools that you can use with your participants as we navigate new ways to serve our participants?
5. Budget Like A Boss (May 12, 2021) - Dr. Chris George will share insights, common practices, and tips on how to manage your program's budget! What are some common pitfalls to avoid as you work with your university's accounting department as well as the Department of Education? What are some strategies to creating an effective and efficient budget?
