Hello All,
The Council for Opportunity
in Education (COE) works tirelessly for US and for our
students/participants. They are constantly vigilant in issues with the
U.S. Department of Education and with our elected representatives in DC.
COE is the reason that we have the funds that we do to run our programs and
make a difference in the lives of our students/participants. Although we
are dealing with an extremely tough budget situation now, COE is the reason
that we are not facing an even more difficult budget situation in TRIO. COE
will be working tirelessly throughout the federal budget process to ensure that
TRIO is in a strong position on the legislative agenda. I am convinced that without the efforts
of COE, in today’s political climate, the TRIO programs would be greatly
diminished, if we even existed at all.
As you well know, this work
on our behalf is not free. COE incurs many expenses to make all of these
things happen. They need assistance from us – from each and every one of us – to keep working on our
behalf. You can make a difference to this effort by making a personal
contribution to COE Fair Share. Any amount you can donate would be much
appreciated; no amount is too small.
You can make a donation by
sending a check, using your credit card, or having an amount debited from your
bank account. Online donations are preferable (and easier!), but you may
certainly mail your check to COE (1025 Vermont Ave., NW, Suite 900, Washington,
DC 20005). You may also call COE (202-347-7430) and take care of your
donation over the phone. Whichever method you choose, the first step is
to visit the COE website at:

KAEOPP and SAEOPP are working
very hard to meet our Fair Share obligations by June 15, 2011; this will ensure
that ALL of our contributions are counted by the end of COE’s fiscal year (June
30). If you have not yet made your personal contribution to COE Fair
Share, I urge to take a couple of minutes to take care of this
today.
I truly appreciate you
support of KAEOPP, SAEOPP and TRIO. Thank you!
